Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a sin. It lets us believe that these creatures were born from the same womb. For when the horror begins and the malignity takes its toll; it bubbles and burns under your skin. The seams rip open, the blood rushes out and it feels as if it will drip dry to the bone. The once oblivious mind has now been dissolved and replaced with overwhelming malice. You are now alone and even though they atoned; you are still left walking callused.
Forgiveness is deceitful as it lets us believe that good can evolve from evil. For after the forest has been scorched, it is vindicated, filled with bright flowers, forgetting the black past. The unfounded trust, that good must prevail, then creates an ethereal world. When you’re in it you can’t help but believe that miracles can actually be found. But once you gain faith, the torture, the hate, will soon return and burn it all back to the ground.
Forgiveness may form a scab but the damage underneath still festers with virulent force. In reality it lasts, the wound from the past, will haunt every part of the victim. The dreams will rot into nightmares, the fears into obsessions, until finally you lay shriveled on the bathroom floor. Like a wet rag your worries weigh you down until finally you have to be rung out, you can’t take it anymore. You spout, you scream, you cry with disdain, and fill your body with fury. For forgiveness is not, a thing you ought, to give in such a big hurry.
